NITA | Government  Trade Test Certifications | Grade I, II and III Training | August 2024 Series

Registration Deadline: Friday, June ‘3rd’ 2024 | Location: TBD

MWAKA invites members interested in undertaking their trade test certifications by the National Industrial Training Authority to register for training with our NITA-registered trainers on a flexible and open schedule as they look to prepare for the tests.
MWAKA will also assist members with the process of registration for the tests.
We strongly encourage our members to register for this training which is open to “Mafundi” in Nairobi and its immediate environs. The NITA trade tests are a pivotal measure of the skills and competence of any artisan or craftsman in the construction and engineering skills trade and open doors for opportunities to advance their career as well as to improve their labour mobility.

In partnership with Octagon Africa, MWAKA will host a financial literacy training for its members delving into Last Expense Insurance coverage. This Member Education Forum will give members insights into the last expense insurance product options available today so that members can appreciate the importance of Last Expense Insurance in securing their future and protecting loved ones.

The expert presentation will also feature an interactive discussions and practical guidance for members, and the Association at large, on how to develop a Last Expense Insurance Scheme essential to informed implementation of such a scheme with a view to giving “fundis” security and peace of mind for themselves and their families.

Occupational Health and Safety Issues: Mitigating and Preventing Accidents and Injuries at Construction Sites.

In partnership with DOSHS, this training in Occupational Safety and Health matters is offered to equip members with vital knowledge and skills to ensure workplace safety, prevent accidents and injuries, and promote a culture of well-being in the workplace.

The training program is designed to provide comprehensive guidance on identifying, assessing, and mitigating workplace hazards within the construction and engineering sectors. Through interactive sessions, participants will learn about industry-specific safety regulations, risk management strategies, and best practices for promoting a safe working environment. Members will also be sensitized on their rights, duties and responsibilities under the Work Injury Benefits Act and train on practical exercises and case studies to enhance understanding, empowering participants to implement effective safety measures and emergency protocols.
